Abu Huraira (RA) narrated Abu Saeed Khudri (RA) said that Rasool Allah (SAW) said, “Whenever a Jama'at (a group of people) sits for Zikr of Allah, the angels surround it. Blessing covers that Jama'at. And peace and calm descends on them. And Allah mentions them to the angels present in HIS court. (Muslim)
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ the final Messenger of Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) and the best example for mankind, was born in Makkah, Arabia in the year 571CE (Christian Era). His father, Abdullah died before his birth and his mother, Aminah died when he was only six.
He married Khadijah, a noble lady of Makkah, when he was twenty-five. He began to receive revelation from Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) at the age of forty; marking the beginning of his work as the Messenger of Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala). The people of Makkah used to worship idols. The Holy Prophet ﷺ invited them to Islam. Some became Muslims others turned against him. Undaunted, he continued to preach the message of Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) and gradually, the number of his followers increased. He and the early Muslims underwent terrible suffering, facing stiff opposition from the idolaters. In the twelfth year of his prophethood, in 622CE, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ migrated from Makkah to Madinah where there were already many new Muslims. The people of Madinah welcomed his as their leader and he established the Islamic state there.
The Islamic calendar begins from this migration (Hijrah). The Holy Prophet ﷺ organised the early Muslims and preached the message of Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) with unmatched patience and wisdom. Eventually Islam was established throughout the Arabian Peninsula and within a short time the message of Islam spread to most parts of the known world, making a tremendous contribution to worlds history and civilisation. Over a billion Muslims today bear testimony to the success of that message.
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ described in the Quran as a “blessing for the universe” and an excellent example to follow left this world in 632CE at the age of 63. He left the Quran and his Sunnah as the source of guidance for all mankind. Islam, completed at the time of Prophet Muhammad (peace beupon him) is the solution to all human problems, and brings peace to all mankind. The requirement is to practice it faithfully and sincerely.
