Abdullah bin Umar (RA) narrates from Rasool-Allah (SAW), "For whoever the door of duaa opened, for him the doors of mercy are opened. Whatever duaa is asked from Allah the best duaa is for well-being and safety among them." (Tirmizi)
Children are taken on to the Qur’anic and Islamic classes from the ages of 4 years onwards.
Children are taught the following:
To perform the Wudu (washing)
To read the Qur’an, initially being taught to read Arabic using the the Qaida (an introduction for the rules of reading the Qur’an in Arabic)
To recite the Qur’an with Tajweed (an Arabic word for elocution, meaning proper pronunciation during recitation, as well as recitation at a moderate speed.)
The five pillars of Islam
Prayer in the form of salah
The basic history of Islam
Aqidah
Children are separated into classes based on age and ability, as each child reads the Qur’an at their own pace. The rest of the subjects are taught as a class.
Children from the Qur’anic and Islamic classes will normally progress on to either the Hifz (memorising the Qur’an) class or to one of the other classes being run by the Madrassa.
The classes are run Monday to Thursday, from 5:00 pm to 7:15 pm and on Fridays from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
